1st October Movie Fiesta: Half-price Spectacular(2024)  (Already passed, thank you for the participation!)

The Hong Kong Theatres Association (HKTA) is dedicated to promoting cinema culture and supporting the local film industry. Through various initiatives, the Association aims to encourage Hong Kong’s public to visit cinemas and enjoy a diverse array of films. This year, the Association will once again collaborate with its members to present the “1st October Movie Fiesta: Half-Price Spectacular” event. On 1st October, the National Day holiday, all screenings across 59 cinemas in Hong Kong, including all screening formats and VIP Houses, will be available at half price. In addition to enjoying discounted tickets for over 80 films, moviegoers can participate in the “1st October Movie Fiesta: Half-Price Spectacular: Scratch Extravaganza”, offering chances to win more than 2,000 amazing gifts. This event is subsidised by the Film Development Fund and the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency.

  The first show discount for the elderly will be remained;  Children, students, and senior citizens prices are all half-price discounts, i.e. all ticket types are half-price on October 1 (except for private screening and special programs), and the price of the ticket after 50% off shall be rounded up to one dollar if there is any decimal point.  All ticket exchange coupons, movie coupons, member discounts and bank discounts are not applicable on the day. In case of any dispute, theatre reserves the right of final decision.

1.   TERMS AND CONDITIONS
      -    These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) apply to the 1^ST OCTOBER MOVIE FIESTA: HALF-PRICE SPECTACULAR :  SCRATCH
             EXTRAVAGANZA (“the Event”) that we, Hong Kong Theatres Association Limited (“we” or “HKTA”), organise.
      -    By participating in this Event, you agree to accept these Terms and Conditions.
2.   EVENT DETAILS
      -   The Event includes an instant-win, scratch-and-win opportunity to win prizes. The participation period of the Event starts on 17^th September 2024 and
           ends on 1^st October 2024 (both days inclusive) (“Participation Period”).
      -   During the Participation Period, you will receive a scratch card (“Card”) through one of the following methods, subject to the distribution policies of
           the individual participating cinemas:
           1.  You may receive one (1) Scratch Card for each movie ticket purchased for a film screening on 1^st October 2024 at the Participating Cinemas. For online
                ticket purchases, you can redeem the Scratch Card(s) at the box office of the cinema on the day of the 1^st October screening, upon presentation of the
                printed ticket(s).  Or,
           2.  The Cinemas may distribute the Scratch Card(s) to patrons at the house entrances on 1^st October 2024, upon presentation of the ticket(s).

3.     PRIZES & REDEMPTION ARRANGEMENT 

3.1   Grand Prize and 2nd Prize Redemption Arrangements 
(a)     Prize Details:
         Grand Prize: 75 Free Movie Vouchers (10 Winners)
         2nd Prize: 10 Free Movie Vouchers (30 Winners)
(b)    Winners must contact us at [email protected] or call 2576 3833 to register and arrange prize redemption on or before 11^th October 2024, (5:00pm).
          Failure to register by the deadline will be considered as forfeiting the prize.
(c)     Winners are required to present the clear, original and complete Card for verification and prize redemption at the office of The Hong Kong Theatres
          Association (Address: 42-44 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong; Office hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:00pm) within the scheduled
          redemption period. For those aged below 18, they must be accompanied by an adult/guardian to redeem the prize. Hong Kong Theatres Association
          will collect the Card upon redemption.   We are not responsible for any lost Scratch Cards and the card will not be reissued. For registration purposes,
          the winner's phone number, email address, and the first 4 digits of their identification document will be required.
(d)     Prize winners must retain the original Scratch Card for verification and prize collection purpose. Photocopies will not be accepted. Failure to provide the
          complete Scratch Card or loss of the card will result in forfeiting the prize.
(e)     All prizes in this Event cannot be refunded, transferred or exchanged for cash.
(f)     We reserve the right to disqualify any participant or winner without any notice on the grounds of non-compliance with or breach of any of these Terms
         and Conditions.
(g)    Terms and Conditions for Redeeming the Movie Vouchers at the Participating Cinemas:
        1.  Each Movie Voucher can be redeemed for one (1) 2D movie ticket and can be used for movies with varying ticket prices, including preview shows. The
              cinema will collect the Movie Voucher upon redemption.
        2.  The voucher is not valid for any special format films, including but not limited to RealD Cinema (3D), 4D, 3D, CGS, all D-BOX Version, IMAX 2D/ 3D movies,
              MX4D movies,Onyx Cinema LED, 4DX, SCREENX, Sunbeam Theatre Chinese Opera Show, Film Festivals, special programs, live broadcast programs,
              venue rental or group bookings and movies with special engagement with the film distributors. No additional payment shall be accepted to upgrade
              the ticket to any of the excluded formats.
        3.  The voucher is not valid for use at any VIP Houses and showtimes, and no supplementary payment will be accepted.
        4.  The voucher cannot be exchanged for cash, resale by any means, or used in conjunction with any offers, discounts or promotions.
        5.  The voucher is not valid for purchase of Child, Student, or Senior Tickets.
        6.  The voucher is valid until 30^th September 2025.
        7.  The voucher will be deemed invalid for any altered, modified or damaged.
        8.  The voucher Holder shall comply with the “Film Censorship Ordinance”.
        9.  The voucher must be presented prior to the purchase of the ticket at the box office.
       10. In case of any dispute, the Hong Kong Theatres Association and the cinemas reserve the right of final decision.

3.2   3rd to 6th Prizes Redemption Arrangements
(a)    Prize Details:
         3rd Prize: $50 Concession Voucher (200 Winners)
         4th Prize: Small popcorn (600 Winners)
         5th Prize: $30 Concession Voucher (300 Winners)
         6th Prize: One cup/can/bottle of soft drink (1,000 Winners) [subject to the availability of the cinema's beverage options]
         * Remark：Prize redemption for the third to sixth prizes is not applicable to Lux Theatre and Sunbeam Theatre.
(b)    Winners of the 3rd to 6th prizes must present the clear, original and complete scratch card for verification and prize redemption. Photocopies are not
         accepted. We are not responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen scratch cards and the card will not be reissued.
(c)    Winners who have lost or are unable to provide the clear, original and complete scratch card will be deemed to have forfeited the prize.
(d)    All scratch card prizes must be redeemed between 1^st October - 31^st October 2024 ("the Redemption Period") in accordance with these terms and
         conditions. Winners who fail to redeem the prizes within the Redemption Period will be deemed to have forfeited the prizes without compensation.
         The prizes can be redeemed at any of the Participating Cinemas.
(e)    Each scratch card prize can only be used once. The cinema will collect the Card upon redemption.
(f)    Scratch card prizes or any part thereof cannot be returned, transferred or exchanged for any other benefits, products or services.
(g)   The Scratch card prize is for your personal use only.  The prize is not for resale by any means and cannot be used for any commercial or promotional
         purposes.
(h)   Scratch card prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions, discounts, membership privileges, coupons and/or vouchers.
(i)    The scratch card will not be replaced, accepted or otherwise redeemable if lost, stolen or destroyed.
(j)    If you return or refund an item, the value of the scratch card prize will not be refunded, and the used scratch card will not be reissued.
(k)   The above terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
(l)    If there is any conflict or discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the Chinese version (for all intents and
        purposes) shall prevail and be treated as the correct version.

4.    MISCELLENOUS
(a)   If any participant violates any rules or commit any illegal acts that result in any losses on the part of us or any third parties, the relevant participant will
        be liable for all the losses and we reserve all legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from the relevant participant.
(b)   We will not be liable for any matter or loss in relation to any computer or internet network issues. All dates and time related to the Event are recorded
        according to the reception of our server and computer records.
(c)   The provisions contained in each clause of these Terms and Conditions shall be enforceable independently of each of the others and its validity shall not
        be affected if any of the others is invalid. In the event any provision of these Terms and Conditions is determined to be illegal, invalid, or unenforceable,
        the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall not be affected.
(d)   A person who is not an eligible participant in the Event has no right at law to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, no
        person other than Hong Kong Theatres Association and eligible participants will have any rights or benefits from these terms and conditions under the
        Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623).
(e)   These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and interpreted by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of
        China (“Hong Kong”). You hereby irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Courts in connection with any disputes arising
        from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
(f)   In case of any dispute, the Hong Kong Theatres Association and the participating cinemas reserve the right of final decision.

By participating in the 1^st OCTOBER MOVIE FIESTA: HALF-PRICE SPECTACULAR: SCRATCH EXTRAVAGANZA, it means that you have read, accepted and agreed to the following:
